We will take some details from you and then arrange an initial assessment. Your initial assessment will be with one of our trained Counsellors and is a chance for you to tell us about why you need counselling.

Our Counsellors are approachable, friendly and professional. We will listen to you and talk about our counselling service so you can decide if it can help you. If you want to refer a young person you need to have their permission to do so.

School workshops

Young people lack linguistic, social skills and confidence needed for progression to employment these Work shops are designed to bridge this gap. Delivered by qualified trainers and Counsellors who are all from professional backgrounds including; management; corporate business; engineering; youth work and the legal profession.

  • To increase self-esteem and confidence and social interaction skills. Helping to build skills in readiness for higher education and the workplace.
  • Work shops will facilitate an atmosphere for discussion self development and interaction.
  • Action learning sessions n Improve communication skills including telephone skills.

  • How to write a really good job Application
  • At the end of the course the young person will have the ability to recognise their own abilities.
  • The Moving on Project is in partnership with local businesses and at the completion of the 6 workshops young people will have the opportunity of practical work experience.


Counselling is a confidential service. This means we won’t talk to anyone outside of The Moving on Project unless there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person.
